The Rock is really scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of family-friendly scripts. The saving grace is the goofy Steven Merchant with his crazy-looking coke-bottle glasses and cheshire cat grin, but otherwise, a routine paint-by-the-numbers effort that can barely muster enough earnestness in the film category where the lead character finally learns a lesson to become a better person.
I give it 1 star or a grade of D.
