I had a good time with this movie, it gets a lot of things right, especially the CGI work on the 3 chipmunks is spot-on, they were so adorable, cute and funny, it wasn't hard to laugh with them, and empathize with them. Jason Lee does a good job as Dave Seville, though his character is written to keep things accessible for the kids, while David Cross as Ian Hawke seemed to be a mis-cast for me, just wasn't as edgy or diabolical as he should have been. I laughed so hard at a few scenes, I had to wipe the tears from my eyes, just silly, infectious youthful spirit from the perspective of chipmunks (who can talk and sing).
It's a great little family film that won't disappoint children or their parents.
I give it 3 stars, or a grade of B.
