Rza directs and co-wrote (with Eli Roth) "The Man with the Iron Fists", a martial arts wire-fu film about a Buddhist blacksmith living a quiet life in a village, who eventually turns into the title character. Rounding out the cast are Russell Crowe as non-Asian, but deadly visitor looking for some down-time at the House of the Pink Blossoms, and Lucy Liu as the madame of the house, and some lovely ladies with some dangerous moves. Then there's the Lion clan, featuring various members with names of precious metals of the Olympic variety (Gold Lion, Silver Lion, Bronze Lion, you get the drift), and the interception of a shipment of gold, and also launching an attack on their rivals, the Wolf clan. The Blacksmith forged the weapons for the clans, and has a change of heart, and in the process, the Lion clan make him regret his decision.
It's kind of a messy of a movie, lots of digital blood flying around from skewerings, and other random heapings of violence (beheadings, eye-popping punches, etc), and some relatively tame whorehouse sequences for an R-rated film.
I give it 2 stars, or a grade of C.
